20 Reed Smith Associate Life Our “reverse mentoring” program In 2018, we launched our innovative “reverse mentoring” program, which matches diverse associates and counsel in mentoring relationships with senior lawyers, primarily members of the senior management team and global leadership team. The catch? The mentor in the pairing is the junior lawyer, who is encouraged to share and educate the senior “mentee” about their experiences as a more junior and diverse lawyer, both generally and at our firm in particular. Mentors (again, the juniors) are also encouraged to view the pairing as a potential growth experience for themselves, as well as their mentees, and a way to build relationships with senior members of the firm.
